Samson Mow, Director of strategic Affairs At Blockstream, believes that the hostility of regulators towards bitcoin can become a “double-edged sword” for the organizations themselves.
MoE stated that bitcoin does solve a large number of problems in the traditional financial industry, such as inflation. In his opinion, the countries of the world will have to accept cryptocurrencies because of their advantages, and the hostility of regulators towards bitcoin can destroy confidence in them.
“The thing is, it’s a double-edged sword. You have the power to ban bitcoin, but you may lose your power. You need to be careful with bans and regulations, because you can be on the other side of the sword and it will hit you,” MoE said.
He also stressed that bitcoin gives users a new level of freedom, because it is decentralized and deflationary, and over time people will understand the advantages of the first cryptocurrency.
“Bitcoin allows you to make transactions that people don’t want you to make. This is pure digital freedom,” he said.
Recall that recently the founder of the company Fundstrat Tom Lee (Tomas Lee) said that the real number of bitcoin users does not exceed 500,000 people, and the estimate of 50 million is significantly overstated.
