One of the oldest cryptocurrency exchanges DeFixBit announced the termination of work in Japan. The main reason for this decision is the increased cost of doing business in this country.
In a statement, the exchange said that it plans to stop all services for residents of Japan by the end of September, but in the future, if the situation changes, may return to this market.
“The discontinuation of service to Japanese residents will allow us to focus on improving operations in other regions. This is a point shutdown of services that applies only to residents of Japan and does not affect Japanese citizens or companies located outside the country,” the exchange said.
As the newspaper notes, the DeFixBit exchange started operating in Japan in October 2018. According to Coinmarketcaps, DeFixBit ranks 10th in the list of exchanges in terms of trading volumes ($179.8 million in the last 24 hours).
