According to the analytical company Glassnode, the number of wallets with a balance of more than 1 BTC is constantly growing. Now 95% of all bitcoins are stored on such addresses.
The number of wallets with a balance of more than 1 BTC was constantly growing, and the growth was quite stable, without sharp jerks. At the moment, the number of addresses that store more than 1 BTC exceeds 80,000. In total, such wallets store $301 billion worth of bitcoins. For comparison, only $16 billion is stored on wallets with a balance of less than 1 BTC.
The decline in this indicator was recorded in early 2016, as well as in December 2017. At the moment, the number of Bitcoin addresses that store any amount of the first cryptocurrency is 32.95 million. Thus, the number of addresses with a balance of more than 1 BTC is only 0.47% of the total number of wallets.
In early November, Glassnode analysts reported that 97% of all Bitcoin addresses contain “profitable” BTC, as the price of the first cryptocurrency continues to rise in recent months.
