Customers of the large Italian bank Banca Generali will get access to cryptocurrency services next year. To do this, the bank has entered into a partnership with the fintech company Conio.
According to a representative of Banca Generali, the bank does not plan to launch its own cryptocurrency exchange in the near future. Instead, the bank’s customers will be able to store, buy and sell digital assets thanks to the integration of the Conio wallet into their personal accounts.
Conio specializes in providing financial institutions with digital asset management solutions, including wallet and custodial services. Banca Generali will buy back part of Conio’s shares to support the company’s growth and stable development of solutions for working with digital assets.
Note that it was the Conio wallet that became the first cryptocurrency wallet from Italy. In addition, the company has developed its own solution for storing digital assets. In March of this year, another Italian bank – Banca Sella-provided customers with the opportunity to trade bitcoin on its Hype platform.
